Riotous Theatre (UK)

I worked with Odin Teatret from 2002-7, as a pupil then actress with the ensemble, touring worldwide. In 2007 I became a freelance theatre and opera director based in London and working internationally (Nepal, Cuba, South Africa, Palestine, Macedonia, Denmark).

I founded Riotous Company (registered charity in the UK) and work closely with patron Kathryn Hunter, composer Nikola Kodjabashia, designer Luis F. Carvalho, a team of associate creatives and international partners. Mia/Riotous Company is connected to Odin Teatret as NTL artist, with two current co-productions and new upcoming performances directed by Tage Larsen and Else Marie Laukvik.

The necessity to do theatre came when I realised the world’s a stage… this probably happened upon entering it or soon after I’m sure. Theatre is my call and my craft and so I continue to create work to respond to life and our world, sharing through stories, pictures, music, movement and people.
